Chicken Caesar Wrap

Ingredients:

· 1 large flour tortilla (low-carb, 5g net carbs) or collard green leaf (for a low-carb wrap)

· 1/2 cup sliced grilled chicken breast (30g protein)

· 1/4 cup Caesar dressing (make sure it's sugar-free and low-carb)

· 1 cup shredded romaine lettuce

· 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese (6g protein)

· 1/4 cup sliced bacon (10g protein)

· 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

· Salt and pepper to taste

    Instructions:

1. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

2. Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, and your favorite seasonings. Grill for 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

3. Slice the grilled chicken into thin strips.

4. In a large bowl, combine the romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.

5. In a small bowl, whisk together the Caesar dressing and 1 tablespoon of water.

6. Add the sliced chicken to the bowl with the lettuce mixture and toss with the Caesar dressing.

7. Cook the bacon slices until crispy, then chop into small pieces.

8. Assemble the wrap:

Lay the tortilla or collard green leaf flat.

Add the chicken and lettuce mixture.

Top with bacon pieces.

Fold the bottom half of the tortilla up, then fold...

  Cultural Background and Origin

The Chicken Caesar Wrap is a modern twist on the classic Caesar salad, which was invented by Italian-American chef Caesar Cardini in Tijuana, Mexico, in the 1920s. Cardini crafted the Caesar salad with simple ingredients during a rush in his restaurant, creating a dish that became internationally famous. The wrap version likely emerged in the U.S. in the late 20th century as a convenient, portable meal option blending Caesar salad’s flavors with the accessibility of a sandwich.

   Bonus Tips:

· Make it Spicy: Add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes for a kick.
